MY MIND IS FAR AWAY

MY MIND IS FAR AWAY

“HEAR ME MY CHIEFS!  I AM TIRED.

MY HEART IS SICK AND SAD.  FROM WHERE

THE SUN STANDS, I WILL FIGHT NO MORE

FOREVER.”

                                                                             Chief Joseph

I am so tired of hearing all the political bickering and lying and all the things that is thrown at us everyday that has nothing to do with whether either candidate can run the country.  One candidate I can’t stand and the other I don’t like.  Values and decency seem to have been lost not only by those in office, but also those who are supposed to be the watch dog and keep everyone honest.  But the honesty is gone there also.

If you speak on your opinion you are subject to hate and ridicule from many fronts but the most disheartening are the friends.  If you want to know the thinking and feelings of the 1860’s when the country divided and fought brother against brother and father against son, this is it.

I wish I were younger I would find myself an old Scout, pack it up, and head to my beloved Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.  I would find a trail up to the lakes and go as far as I could.  I would come down to see what madness the country chose later.  But I can’t.

I cannot vote for anyone who believes that a baby has no right to live right up to it’s delivery.  Someone who admires a woman who’s goal in  life was to kill as many blacks and ‘low class’ citizens, and applauds her.

I cannot vote for someone who has no regard for life other than at election time and defends deliberate wrongs in her life and others.  There are some that would call me conservative on some things and liberal on others.  I try to use what I have learned, seen, read, experienced, and lived to base my opinions on.

Many people in my life have often accused me of being a dreamer and optimist.  I would plead guilty to most counts.  Maybe I am so tired because this election has gone on forever.  I am sure that we will wake up in January and whomever is taking the oath of office half the country will be angry and half will be happy.  Either way the plan that was laid out and put into practice by so many will have been accomplished.

When asked if God will let this nation be destroyed the only answer I can give is that Israel was lead into bondage for turning their backs on God.  It is up to the people to decide whether we, the U.S., will survive or not.  It boils down to faith.  Faith in Providence and the judgement of the people.
